Former New York State Assembly Member Alex Brook-Krasny will run for the open City Council seat in Brooklyn’s 47th District.
“In the years since I retired from public office, I have seen how our city is completely failing people in neighborhoods like Bensonhurst, Coney Island, Gravesend and Seagate. The COVID pandemic has only made it clearer to me that strong, effective leadership is desperately needed at City Hall.”
As our Assembly Member, Alec increased financial support for public schools, Coney Island Hospital, and subsidized housing. He enacted anti-violence programs that made our neighborhoods safer, especially for seniors. He worked with local residents to recover, rebuild, and revitalize after the devastation that hurricane Sandy left behind. And Alec worked to increase funding for bus and subway service.
“In the City Council, I will continue the work I started in Albany — fixing public transportation, lifting up struggling schools, supporting workers and small businesses,” Brook-Krasny said.
Alec is ready to fight for Bensonhurst, Coney Island, Gravesend, and Sea Gate, to make sure that the future is bright for our children. Just like he always has.
